The officers of Samtskhe-Javakheti police department along with Patrol Police officers as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities exposed 4 persons for illegal cutting of the wood and another person exposed for violating technical regulations of the wood processing mill.In Borjomi and Adigheni regions law enforcers seized illegally cut wood from the vehicles of the exposed persons and locked down wood processing mill in Borjomi.Investigation is in progress under the article 303, I part of the Criminal Code, article 128 (3) part I under the Code of Administrative Offences.

The so-called ‘thief-in-law,’ a person born in 1952 and previously convicted, was arrested at Tbilisi International Airport by law-enforcers. The person was deported from Russia and had lived in Ukraine and Russia for the last several years. Investigation is ongoing.

The person was found with 769 pills of Suboxin drugs upon the body search. The person admits guiltiness.

A wanted person for an attempted murder committed in 2013 was detained during a special operation carried out in Tsinubani village, in the vicinity of Lilo settlement of Tbilisi. According to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the person was armed while detention. 

Georgian law-enforcers are carrying out yet another special operation in Ponichala settlement of Tbilisi. One person is detained on drug charge. 

One person has been detained on the charge of drug trafficking as a result of special operation near Carrefour trade center at the entrance of Tbilisi. Police officers are still searching two cars.There were three minors together with their mother in one of the stopped cars, but the children were taken away from the area a few minutes ago.The area of special operation is blocked. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the arrest of one person. No additional comment has yet been made on the special operation.

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has released an official statement over fortnight’s special operation when drug dealers were arrested.As reported by the ministry, N.J. born in 1989 and M.J. born in 1976 were arrested for illegal possession and purchase of drugs in Ponichala settlement, Tbilisi. ‘As investigated, the detainees systematically sold the drugs. Police seized heroine in 33 packs. Investigation has been underway according to the 1st and 4th parts of the 260th article of Georgia’s Criminal Code,’ reads the statement.

Law enforcers detained two people on fact of producing and realizing fake excise stamps. Members of the criminal group produced 6 thousand counterfeit excise stamps for alcohol beverages. The place is sealed. Investigation into the case is ongoing. 

Salome Novruzashvili, an 80-year-old woman was attacked with a knife by an unknown person in Akhalkalaki village, Kaspi district of Shida Kartli region. The attacker tried to force the elderly woman into the cellar. The woman lived with relatives and they rushed out in the courtyard. The attacker escaped. Nothing is taken from the house. Experts of Criminal Police worked at the site of crime scene during the whole night. The woman was taken to Kaspi Hospital. Her health condition is satisfactory. Investigation into the case is ongoing. 

Turkish police have detained a group of drug dealers in the town of Edirne. As reported, one member of the group is a citizen of Georgia. As police have reported, there are all 6 members in the group including citizens of Syria, Iran and Bulgaria.Within the framework of the special operation, a police officer contacted with the group as if he wanted to buy drugs and seized 10 grams of heroin as evidence.
