Georgia’s PM meets his Turkish counterpart

Main aspects of strategic partnership between the states and prospects of deepening the cooperation were the main topics discussed during the meeting of the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili and his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim.As reported by the governmental administration of Georgia, the meeting started with discussing the recent events taking developments in Turkey. Giorgi Kvirikashvili reasserted Georgian Government's support to the democratically elected Government of Turkey and the Turkish people. According to him, preserving of stability in Turkey as well as reinforcement of existing strategic partnership between the countries is important to Georgia.Prime Minister of Turkey thanked Government of Georgia for demonstrating support to the stability in Turkey and assessed the visit of the Georgian Prime Minister as a step towards further development of strategic partnership between the countries.Parties paid particular attention to the cooperation in the areas of trade and economy, transportation and energy. Need for further intensification of the bilateral trade and prospects of increasing Georgian export to the Turkish market were discussed. The conversation also touched upon the joint energy and transportation projects.The heads of the Governments of the countries assessed the importance of the first session of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Turkey and Georgia. They expressed hope that said platform will enable discussing of the matters of common interest and deepening political dialogue. The conversation also touched upon the recent regional developments as well as the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. Prime Minister of Turkey emphasized unwavering support of Turkey to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.At the end of the meeting the parties expressed readiness to support extending of the strategic partnership between the countries.

Cement Production factory to be built in Senaki

Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili laid the foundation to the construction of Cement production factory in Senaki town of Samegrelo region this afternoon. Implementation of USD 120 million-worth Georgian-Chinese investment project begins in Samegrelo. The factory will produce 900 thousand tons of Clinker and 1.5 million tons of cement annually. About 500 locals will be employed at the factory provided with modern technologies.

Georgia-Germany business forum opened in Berlin

Georgia-Germany business forum “Trade and Business with Georgia” was opened in Berlin. The forum was opened by Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who is paying an official visit to Germany.The main topics of the Georgia-Germany business forum are attractive, stable business environment and investment opportunities of Georgia. The forum is being attended by 130 representatives of Georgian and German business organization. In his speech Giorgi Kvirikashvili described Georgia as the region's leading reformer. According to the Prime Minister, Georgia made significant progress in European and Euro-Atlantic integration."We have made significant progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU and in the near future we are expecting to get visa liberalization. The Georgia-EU Association Agreement will open new opportunities. Later this month, we will sign a free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association, " Kvirikashvili said.

Economic Growth - 3, 4% in March

Pursuant to him, respective reforms aim at creating even more lucrative entrepreneurial environment that will ensure attracting of foreign investments, creation of new working places, stimulation of entrepreneurial activities in all fields of economy and increasing the wellbeing of Georgian population.It was noted that notwithstanding the regional crisis, Georgia has demonstrated impressive rates of economic growth. Prime Minister considers that diversification of economy has played major role in stable development of economy and currently Georgia maintains healthy macroeconomic environment.

NBG reducing refnancing rate

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) is reducing refinancing rate based on the decision made today. The rate of monetary policy will be reduced by 50 points and will be 7.5 instead of 8%. This means that those citizens, who had loans attached to refinancing rate at commercial banks, will have to pay 0.5 % less every month.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Chung Ui-Hwa, who is paying an official visit to Georgia. According to Governmental Administration, the sides discussed development of bilateral cooperation. The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked Chung Ui-Hwa doe supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the support provided during the flood.The sides noted that potential for development of relations between the two countries is great, which will be contributed by the opening of a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Korea in Tbilisi.According to the Governmental Administration, the discussion focused on the issue of free trade, education reform, which is one of the important components of the government's four-point plan. The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea expressed his readiness to support Georgia and to be a reliable partner in the international arena.The Prime Minister noted that the Georgian government welcomes Korean investments in Georgia. In this regard, the importance of the investments of the Korean company K Water, worth 1 billion, was emphasized.

Armenia violates 120 times ceasefire in Karabakh - Azerbaijan’s ministry

The Armenian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours violated 120 times the ceasefire regime at different parts of the front, using 60mm mortars, grenade launchers, high caliber automatic guns, press service of Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said on Saturday.The defense authority said from the Armenian positions the fire was aimed at positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces along the state border between the countries and in Karabakh."In accordance with the operative situation, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan delivered 121 fire strikes on the enemy’s positions and trenches," the ministry’s press service reported.Overnight to April 2, hostilities erupted on the line disengaging warring sides in Nagorno-Karabakh. Later, the parties to the conflict accused each other of the ceasefire violations. On Friday, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed a ceasefire to search for bodies of servicemen.

Panama Papers – A huge leak of confidential documents has revealed

Eleven million documents held by the Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca have been passed to German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung, which then shared them with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.The documents show links to 72 current or former heads of state in the data and how assets are hidden and taxes evaded.The information in the leak covers associates of the Russian president, current and former leaders including prime ministers of Iceland, Pakistan, Britain, and the president of Ukraine.$2 billion found in the Mossack Fonseca files involving people or companies linked to Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The world’s best soccer player, Lionel Messi, is also found in the documents.  Georgia’s former Prime Minister Bedzina Ivanishvili is also mentioned in the files. According to documents Bidzina Ivanishvili owns one of the companies, which is not listed in his official declaration.

Olives Procession Factory opened in Sighnaghi, Kakheti
