Jury prolonged deadline for selecting the Georgian entry song for 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC). The applications can be sent till October 25. The regarding decision was made as the winner had not been revealed within the frame of a competition announced from 12 to 25 September.All interested persons, authors and songwriters are encouraged to send the songs composed specially for this contest and biography at E-mail - email@example.com.The song must not be more than 3 minutes long and lyrics should be in Georgian language. Fire is localized near Brotsliani settlment, in Tsnori. According to the Emergency Management Agency, the grass and shrub were quickly burnt and there were the danger of spreading fire near residential houses.After fire suppression operation, there is no danger of spreading the fire.According to the agency, rescuers have completed the fire-liquidation works.

Several helicopters including Azerbaijani helicopters are trying to extinguish the fire in Tsagveri since early morning. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze confirms the information.According to Zurab Alavidze, the fire is localized now but if wind gets stronger, it is not excluded that the fire will flare up.As Emergency Management Agency says, up to 250 firefighters and about 300 employee of the MIA special task force department are involved in the fire suppression operation. A court in Ukraine on Friday found ex-Odessa governor Mikheil Saakashvili guilty of illegal border crossing and fined him 3,400 hryvnia. Georgian Prime Minister held meeting with UN Secretary General.Meeting of Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres focused on the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, internally displaced persons and the steps taken by the Government of Georgia in terms of fostering engagement policy and trust building processes.The Secretary General of the United Nations indicated that he is well aware of the situation on the occupied territories of Georgia, particularly, regarding the IDPs. Problem of so called Borderization, challenges faced by ethnic Georgians residing in the occupied territories of Georgia, particularly due to the closure of checkpoints were also discussed during the meeting. Concern was expressed due to the fact of prohibition of teaching in Georgian language at schools of Gali region.Importance of Geneva International Discussions (GID) and the active involvement of the UN representatives in the said format was particularly emphasized.The Secretary General particularly commended on the consistent policy adopted by the Government of Georgia regarding the conflict resolution, particularly in light of the grave challenges that are present on the occupied territories of Georgia. The UN Secretary General also indicated that the UN fully supports Georgia. The Secretary General also welcomed the steps taken by the Government of Georgia in terms of engagement policy and peace building activities.Parties to the meeting agreed that Georgia will remain among the top priorities of the UN agenda.Giorgi Kvirikashvili made a memorable entry in the UN Book of Honorable Guests.

No Georgian citizens among injured in Mexico earthquake

There are no Georgian citizens among the dead or injured as a result of an earthquake which struck Mexico. Nikoloz Svanidze, the representative of Georgian Embassy to Mexico reports in that regard. Future Camp was closed in Anaklia. The leaders and participants of the camp were presented musical repertory in front of the audience. The closing ceremony ended with fireworks. Anaklia's Future Camp hosted about 2 300 pupils from all parts of Georgia, including the Occupied Region of Abkhazia.
