A canister full of petrol has been recently found at the Borjomi forest. Information has been released on facebook by Aka Sinjikashvili. As reported, police officers have already arrived at the scene. Investigation has been underway according to the 187th article of Georgia’s Criminal Code. ‘We have encountered a 20-litre canister full of petrol at the Borjomi forest. I called in Patrol Police. Representatives of the Interior Ministry also arrived. They called an investigator and a probe has been launched… As reported another person has also found two canisters in the forest,’ Sinjikashvili reports.

Armenia sends its crews to help Georgia fight wildfire

Armenia will also engage in firefighting efforts in Borjomi Gorge. As Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili reported, crews from Armenia are already on their way to Georgia. ‘We have already got very significant assistance from Azerbaijan. At the end of the day a large firefighter plane will arrive from Turkey – Turkish PM has made such a decision… Armenia has also decided to help Georgia, having sent its crews that are currently on their way,’ Kvirikashvili said.

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has thanked all those involved in extinguishing the fire near Daba village of Borjomi Gorge. He especially thanked the firefighters and rescuers, heroically fighting in these days. He has also thanked Azerbaijan and Turkey for providing assistance. ‘I would also like to thank our public, volunteers but I would also like to call on them not to act independently but offer their help to the staff working to extinguish the fire… Thank you all for being so organized at a social level,’ Margvelashvili has remarked. Fire erupted at the forest near the Daba village on August 20. Yesterday it was localized but severe wind led eruption of new fire-hit locations.

Expert-Criminals are working at explosion site in Batumi

Expert-Criminals are working at Abashidze Street in Batumi, at the site where explosion at liquid gas station occurred yesterday.  Investigation is ongoing under the Article 240 of  Criminal Code, which implies neglect of security norms.Additional explanations have not been made yet from Adjara government agencies regarding the incident. Batumi City Hall provided temporary shelter to the victims of the explosion.Two houses were fully burnt, two - were damaged, three people were injured and five cars were burnt as a result of an explosion at liquid gas station at General Abashidze Street in Batumi city of Adjara region yesterday. Two injured people still remain in hospital. One of them was transferred to Tbilisi Burning Center.

There is one Georgian citizen among those injured in the road accident in Turkey. The young Georgian woman is placed at hospital. Reportedly, her health condition is stable.At least five people were killed and 36 others injured on Saturday when a passenger bus overturned in Turkey's Black Sea province of Amasya, local media reported. The bus was travelling from the country's biggest city Istanbul to the Black Sea city of Samsun when it went off the road near the Merzifon district of Amasya and capsized, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.Rescue crew and ambulances were dispatched to the scene, the agency said, noting that the injured were taken to hospitals in Amasya and Merzifon.

Georgian citizens are not among the injured in the fire at 5-star hotel of Kemer resort of Antalya, Turkey. As Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports, 14 persons have been transferred to the hospital, but none of them is a citizen of Georgia.The 400 people have been evacuated due to fire from one of the five star hotels in Antalya. According to the reports, fire broke out in the hotel kitchen at 08:00 local time. The firefighters evacuated some of the tourists from the balconies.
