Tourism National Administration sums up 2015


Compared to the previous year's figures, the number of international visitors increased by 6.9% in 2015, Head of the National Tourism Administration Giorgi Chogovadze said at a press conference. 

As Chogovadze noted, in 2015 the record number of international travelers visited Georgia. In particular, the number of visitors amounted to 5 897 685, which is 382 126 more than in the previous year.

As Chogovadze noted, in 2015 Georgia was most of all visited by citizens of the neighboring countries, however, the positive growing trend was maintained from the EU countries too, particularly from: Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, and Germany (15%, 13%, 13%, and 10%), as well as from the Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (29%), the Eastern European countries - Belarus (51%), the Middle East - Israel (40%) and the Asian countries – United Arab Emirates (75%) and Saudi Arabia 80%). 10% increase in the number of travelers from the United States is also notably.

10 countries, from which the largest number of international travelers arrived in Georgia during 2015, are the following: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Poland, Germany, Kazakhstan, US.
