Two members of opposition party arrested in Yerevan

Press Secretary of the opposition Heritage party David Sanasaryan and member of the Board of the party Hovsep Khurshudyan were arrested on charges of organizing and participating in mass disorders in Yerevan.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia opened a criminal case on the fact of mass disorders in Yerevan against 23 people, including the Sanasaryan and Khurshudian. According to the IC of Armenia, on July 29, during the riots organized by a group of individuals, violence was used against the police and public safety was put under threat.

“The court decided to satisfy the petition and to arrest the Sanasaryan for a period of two months”, — told RIA Novosti lawyer Robert Revazyan, adding that the decision to arrest Sanasaryan will be appealed.
