Prime Minister arrived in Tkibuli to offer sympathy to the families of the mine accident victims

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has arrived in Tkibuli in order to offer sympathy to the families of the Tkibuli mine accident victims. 

Bodies of the miners killed in Tkibuli mine incident will be buried today.

Aleko Chelishvili, Gizo Kublashvili, Viktor Daghundaridze and Gizo Gubelidze died as a result of tragic incident on May 9 in Mindeli Mine, Tkibuli, western Georgia. 

Bodies of the deceased miners were recovered after 13-hour-long efforts. An elevator carrying the four miners fell deep into the mine.  Patrol Police, Rescue and Emergency brigades were mobilized at the scene. 

Investigation is ongoing into the tragic accident.
