NATO PA adopted Declaration supporting Georgia's NATO integration

Georgia deserves NATO membership - NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session hosted in Tbilisi for four days ended with this message.

The NATO PA accomplished with adoption of the Declaration supporting NATO integration of Georgia, in which up to 600 delegates from 50 countries call on NATO leadership to strengthen Georgia's support.

The Declaration includes acute statements in relation to Russia. Parliamentary delegations from NATO member and non-member countries strongly condemn the Russian occupation and artificial barriers on the occupation line. All these messages have been repeated in their speeches.

The Georgian Delegation appealed for the change to the Declaration, envisaging addition of the paragraph to the Chapter 18 that the Assembly calls on Russian Federation “to allow the citizens free movement and trading along the administrative border line”. The change has been shared and reflected to the Declaration.

The Declaration was adopted with majority of votes.
