Georgian JESC contender to perform song by Giga Kukhianidze at competition

Grigol Kipshidze, Georgian participant of 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) will perform the song by composer Giga Kukhianidze at the competition.

The jury unanimously chose the song by out of 9 presented musical compositions. The contender and the composer will work on the final version jointly.

The jury failed to support to any of the presented songs on September 26. The competition for selection of an entry song was then prolonged till October 5. The jury included Zaza Shengelia, Dato Evgenidze, Maia Baratashvili, Eliso Shengelia and Giorgi Asanishvii.

“I believe that prolongation of the competition was the right decision. The song selected this time meets all the criteria of JESC. Grigol Kipshidze will reveal his abilities fully with this song,” Evgenidze told First Channel.

Georgia is hosting the 15th JESC this year after having won the competition three times. Tbilisi Olympic Palace will host the 15th JESC on November 26.

Young singers from 16 European countries will arrive in Tbilisi on the occasion of the musical competition. Georgia won the right to host the competition after Mariam Mamadashvili won 2016 JESC in Malta.
