President pardons 226 prisoners

Georgia’s President pardoned 226 prisoners. One of the pardoned prisoners had been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.

According to the Chairperson of the Pardon Commission, the 141 inmates will have left penitentiary facilities by the end of today, while penalties of 85 convicts will be mitigated.

The Pardon Commission has examined 1 604 cases. There are 13 women and 2 juveniles among the pardoned.
