Investigation into 2008 war - expectations and work specifics of Hague Court

The Hague International Criminal Court starts investigating the crimes committed on the occupied territories of Georgia during Russia-Georgia 2008 war.International Criminal Court gave the ICC’s prosecutor Fatou Bensouda the permission for launching the investigation. The prosecutor will investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed during the war. The investigation will cover a period from July 1, 2008 to October 10, 2008.Russia has expressed dissatisfaction with the decision of Judges Chamber. One of the reasons of the Kremlin’s dissatisfaction is that only two sides are represented in the case – Russia and Georgia.The group of the investigators will visit Georgia in the nearest future to collect evidences. Islamic State is the world's number one security challenge; however the coalitional or separate states along with fighting against the terrorism, also are trying to pursue their own geopolitical interests.
