Are psychotropic medicines sold without prescription in Georgia? The question becomes acute after the statistic data made public by several hospitals.

Ingorokva neurosurgery center and surgery center confirm that they have received dozens of patients with overdose of psychotropic medicines for the last several months. There are adolescents among the patients.

Officials of Georgian Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs also speak about the revealed law-violations on pharmacy market after activation of prescription-issuing system. In 69 cases out of 205 facts, psychotropic medicines were sold without a prescription.
