Second person dies of H1N1 virus – Special regime set for First Medical Aid

A middle-aged man died of H1N1 virus, so-called Swine Flu, in Kutaisi city, Imereti region of Georgia today. This is the second fatal case of the virus in western Georgia. Based on the latest data, the 248 cases are fixed on every 100 thousand people. According to Paata Imnadze, Head of National Diseases Control Center, the statistics of virus cases in Georgia is lower for 2016 in comparison to the latest years, and there is no threat of pandemics. Specialists still call on the population for being careful. Mobilization has been announced at First Medical Aid and family doctors are transferred onto a special working regime due to increasing cases of H1N1 virus in Georgia that already resulted in 2 fatalities. Davit Sergeenko, Georgian Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs held a special meeting earlier this afternoon and called on heads of medical institutions to reject service of company cars and dispatch them at sites in need. Heads of National Diseases Control Center as well as hospitals both in Tbilisi and regions received instructions how to handle the increased applications of patients. Sergeenko also called on doctors for taking necessary measures.
