MIA seized 52 pills containing Buprenorphine

Officers of Adjara Regional Main Division as a result of operative-investigative and searching activities detained Jemal M. (DoB 1960) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities on airport highway in Batumi and David Z. (DoB 1976) for illegal purchase, keeping and inflow of drugs in large quantities in Georgia in the vicinity of Sarphi Border Checkpoint.

Law enforcers seized 49 pills of narcotic substance ‘Suboxine’ as a result of Jemal M-owned car search, that according to expertise results contain 0,392 gr. of Buprenorphine. As a result of personal search of David Z. officers seized 3 pills of “Suboxine” that according to expertise results contain 0.008 gr. of Buprenorphine.

Both detainees have already pleaded guilty. Investigation against Jemal M. is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and inflow of drugs in especially large quantities (article 260, part III subparagraph “A” and article 262, part 4, subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia). Investigation against David Z. is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and of drugs in large quantities and illegal inflow of drugs in large quantities (Article 260, part II, subparagraph “A” and article 262, part 2, subparagraph “A”).
