Houses to be built for 14 IDP families
According to the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees, Minister Sozar Subari handed over letters to 14 internally displaced families, confirming that houses will be built on the land owned by them.
The formal ceremony was attended by Samegrelo Governor Levan Shonia, Head of the Abkhazian government Vakhtang Kolbaia, Director of the South Caucasus Office of the Danish Refugee Council and a representative of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The project is being carried out by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Construction of houses will start in August and will finish before the end of the year. Applications within the project could only be filled by the displaced families who owned non-agricultural land. The size of each house will be determined according to the number of family members.
