The 12 corpses repatriated from Babushera grave of occupied Abkhazia region of Georgia and identified, were buried at Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery this afternoon.

The corpses were rested at Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral from Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau where civil funeral was held. President, Prime Minister and governmental members expressed condolence to the families.

A coordination group under auspices of Red Cross Organization was established in 2010 which studied the issue of missing persons of 1992-93 Georgian-Abkhazian war. Exhumation of Babushera grave took place in spring of 2014 with participation of Argentinean expert-anthropologists.
