Progress of 4 aspirant countries of NATO to be evaluated

Publish Time 2015-12-02 10:09:00

The North-Atlantic Treaty Organization today will assess the progress achieved by four aspirant countries including Georgia. Foreign Ministers of NATO will adopt a communiqué. The main topic to be discussed during the meeting will be expansion of the organization and accepting Montenegro as its member.

The Georgian governmental members believe that NATO will make a positive decision about expansion that will reiterate the open-door policy. Georgian Defense and Foreign Ministers also hope that Georgia’s progress will be reflected in the communiqué.

The document will be an interim report ahead of the Warsaw Summit. NATO was last expanded in 2009 when Albania and Croatia joined the alliance.
