Investigation into Ponichala murder case continues


Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has not made any official statement regarding the murder in Ponichala settlement of Tbilisi where 35-year-old woman and 3-year-old girl were found killed although 32 hours passed after the crime. Investigation into the case continues. Police has no suspect. 

Otar Mamporia, husband of Nina Romanadze killed in Ponichala settlement of Tbilisi, made the first comment about the case. Mamporia was questioned last night. 

He said the police excluded his being a suspect of the crime after he told the investigation that he took his elder child to school on February 22 and left his wife and daughter sleeping. 

Family members find it difficult to speak about crime motives. Investigation into the case is opened under article of premeditated murder. Officers of Criminal police worked at the crime scene. No money or cash money is taken from the house. 

The murder took place on February 22. The 35-year-old woman was found dead in the room with a wound inflicted in the neck area with a knife. The 3-year-old daughter was found burnt. 

The corpses are subjected to expertise at Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau. The dead bodies will be transferred to Qaquti village, Kobuleti district of Adjara region and will be buried there.
