UNM to temporarily stop rallying over issue of Botanic Garden

The parliamentary oppositional United National Movement (UNM) Party will temporarily stop rallying over the issue of Tbilisi Botanic Garden till May 3. The auction about selling of 29 hectares of territory near Botanic Garden will finish that day. 

In case the territory is handed over to former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, UNM pledges to organize large-scale protests. The opposition demands that construction of Krtsanisi-Shindisi road was continued and 4 hectares of land was returned to Botanic Garden. A protest was held outside Tbilisi City Hall earlier this afternoon.
