Today, we all need to think about how to cure out wounds and how to restore the broken bridge between Abkhazians and Georgians, Ossetians and Georgians, - Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said in the Heroes' Square, where he laid a wreath at the Memorial of Heroes in connection with the Day of Fall of Sukhumi. As the Prime Minister said, we should move forward to the goal of unification of the country with only peaceful steps. “Today is the most tragic date in the recent and not only in the recent history of Georgia – the fall of Sukhumi. Tens of thousands of people died as a result of this war, while hundreds of thousands of people were internally displaced persons inside the country and we got the occupied territories. The main thing that all of us realize is that this was a war against Georgians and Abkhazians. We, of course, pay tribute to all the heroes. Today, we all need to think about how we should cure out wounds and how to restore the broken bridge between Abkhazians and Georgians, Ossetians and Georgians. We should move forward to the goal of unification of the country with only peaceful steps,” PM said. Twenty-three years passed today after fall of Sokhumi, occupied region of Abkhazia. ფოტოგალერეა
