Political crisis in occupied Abkhazia. After the visit of de facto leader of Abkhazia to Kremlin, so-called opposition leader Aslan Bzhania was arrested in Sochi.

Two days before Raul Khajimba’s visit to Moscow, Aslan Bzhania demanded unconditional resignation of so called President of Abkhazia otherwise he threatened with protest rallies. During the meeting Russia’s President Vladimir Putin discussed the issue with Raul Khajimba calling him to stabilize the situation.

It was reported that Aslan Bzhania was detained for possession of illegal weapon on Russian territory. In phone conversation with local media Bzhania links his detention to a political motive. He says that he received the above-mentioned weapon from so called President as a gift.

Bzhania’s supporters held a rally. It is supposed that the rallies may turn to unrest and confrontation.
