Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia solved the so-called Photographers’ Case and launched criminal persecution against two persons. The main investigation body today revealed new details over the case the investigation of which began in 2012. This is one of the high-profile cases during the rule of United National Movement (UNM) Party. The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia continues investigation of the so-called photo reporters’ case to reveal other high-ranking officials involved in it, - prosecutor Koka Katsitadze said at a news conference. Davit Devnozashvili, former deputy head of Tbilisi Department of Intelligence Service is detained. Charges were presented to former director of #8 Prison Aleksandre Mukhadze. He is kept at pre-detention isolator. Photographers Giorgi Abdaladze, Zurab Kurtsikidze and Irakli and Natela Gedenidzes claim that former authorities took vengeance against them for release of photo material reflecting the violent crackdown of May 26 protest in Tbilisi. The photo reporters, who had been detained on charges of espionage, hope that those involved in their case, will be punished. They made comments for hournalists at the Prosecutor's Office, where they met with representatives of the agency with regard to the progress of the investigation into their case. Gedenidze worked as photo reporter of Presidential Administration, while Abdaladze - as photographer of Foreign Ministry. ფოტოგალერეა
