Patrol Police officer detained on charge of consuming drugs

A patrol police officer has been detained for use of drugs. According to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), on March 16, the detainee and his companion were driving a car in Zugdidi town of western Samegrelo region, during which they were stopped and searched by officers of General Inspection. 

As a result of the search, a white pill (presumably drug) was found in the pocket of the police officer, while a syringe with drug in it was found in the car. During the search of the house of V. Sh. the owner of the car, police officers seized a weapon, a grenade and 86 bullets.
