President will not present any candidates for vacant post of a judge in Supreme Court of Georgia. Discussions over the issue were held within the framework of the sitting of Constitutional Commission on March 17.

According to Vakhushti Menabde, Constitutionalist, Justice Supreme Council had to be involved in the selection process of candidates based on the conclusion provided by Venice Commission, advisory body of Council of Europe.

The idea was expressed during the sitting that President’s authorities were not limited but added by Justice Supreme Council in the process. However, the suggestion was not supported.
