Eight people detained over Batumi developments

Eight people have been detained in relation to March 11-12 Batumi developments, Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reports. Charges have not been presented to them yet. 

As reported by the ministry the detainees are accused according to the 225th and 353rd articles of Georgia’s Criminal Code that envisages attacking police officers, or other governmental representative or public institution. 

Six people were detained earlier and sentenced to pretrial detention. One underage was released yesterday in exchange for 3000-GEL bail.
