Levan Karamanishivlis, one of the owners of Rustavi 2 TV Company, express readiness to transfer 40% of shares free of charge to the Rustavi 2 employees. He released the regarding statement today.
He addressed the Rustavi 2 employees to launch consultations to insure transparent and fair distribution of the shares.
“We appeal to Rustavi 2 staff. Dear friends, your role in the fight for freedom of speech and democracy in Georgia is invaluable. If not for your daily devotion, Rustavi 2 would no longer exist, or would have been turned into Ivanishvili’s propaganda channel. What you have done in the last two years, after the attack on the television, is civil heroism”.
“As a sign of gratitude and respect, we are offering to transfer you 40 % of shares free of charge in order to enable you to define the fate and the future of the channle”, - the statement reads.
