Red Carpet and Opening Ceremony is being held in Kyiv
Red Carpet ceremony of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest takes place on May 7th at Mariyinsky Palace in Kyiv. As is tradition every year at Eurovision, this year’s participating acts and each country delegation are set to take to the carpet on the walk down to the Opening Ceremony.
Following the Red Carpet event, the delegations will move on to the Parkovy Exhibition and Congress Centre for the Opening Ceremony.
The Red Carpet and Opening Ceremony mark the official opening of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will run the following week on the 9, 11 and 13 May and will take place at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv.
First Channel of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) will air the musical event - both Semi-finals and Grand Final - live, starting from 23:00 (local time).
Tamara Gachechiladze will present Georgia at 2017 ESC, with the entry song Keep the Faith. She will take part in the First Semi-Final of the contest, to be held on May 9.
