NDI survey - public opinion on important issues for the country

The National-Democratic Institute (NDI) has published political part of the recent public survey today. Most of the respondents state that none of the political parties is close to their views.

More specifically, to a question: Which party is closest to your views, the category "none" has been chosen by 38% of respondents.

29% of respondents said that the Georgian Dream is closest to their opinions; 10% named the United National Movement; 4% said they had no answer to the question; 4% named the Alliance of Patriots; 3% refused to answer the question; 3% named the Labor Party.

84% of the respondents of the survey carried out by the National Democratic Institute think that the president of Georgia should be elected directly. 

Only 9% said they support election of a president elected representatives, 2% said they did not agree with any rules of the election, 4% said they could not answer the question.

The National Democratic Institute carried out the survey fieldwork on 7-28 April. 2,493 were interviewed face-to-face throughout the country (excluding occupied territories).

The organization says the average margin of error is +/- 2,7. 

The survey was funded by the Great Britain Government and was carried out by CRRC-Georgia.
