I would like to reiterate with clarity that the European Union does not recognize the framework in which the so-called elections were held in Georgia’s breakaway region of South Ossetia, - EU Ambassador to Georgia Janos Herman reporters.

“I talked with the Deputy Minister about the recent meeting and I would like to reiterate with clarity that the European Union does not recognize the framework in which the so-called elections were held in Georgia’s breakaway region of South Ossetia”.

“What we recognize and support is the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. We spoke with the Deputy Minister about cooperation in this field,” Ambassador said.

When asked of why Herbert Salber paid a visit to so-called South Ossetia, Mr Herman said Herbert Salber would speak about the visit himself.
