Driving schools across Georgia may require undergoing authorization, while those, who wish to master driving a car, should learn driving at authorized schools and present a corresponding document when taking a driving test. 

The initiative belongs to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and aims at changing the alarming statistics of road accidents. 

Based on the data of 2016, 581 people died and 9951 were injured in road accidents. Violation of traffic rules is named as one of the main causes of accidents.
