Georgian Interior Ministry solves drug case


Officers of Central Criminal Police Department as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained two Russian citizens: Dimitri U. (DoB 1980) and Vitali L. (DoB1974) for illegal purchase, keeping and selling of drugs in especially large quantities, Georgia’s Interior Ministry reports. 

Investigation established that detainees sold various types of drugs through internet. They received order through the internet and distributed drugs in various districts of Tbilisi.

During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized 333,15gr. of psychotropic substance – the so called “Bio”, amphetamine, 177 pills containing MDMA drug. During the search of the rental apartment and vehicle policemen also seized 1kg anof d 540,25 gr. of psychotropic substance – the so called “Bio”, 887,74gr. of amphetamine powder, 91 pills containing MDMA abd 29 pieces of the same pill.

As a result of the investigative activities held within the frames of the investigation, policemen managed to seize 22 packages of the “Bio” drug distributed throughout Tbilisi districts.

Both of the detainees have already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and attempted selling of drugs- article 260, parts II and VI, sub-paragraph A and article 19-260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
