Zurab Khonelidze has been elected as Rector of the Sokhumi State University by members of Academic Council with 8 votes for and 0 - against today. Three candidates were running for the post. Joni Apakidze served as acting rector before. The elections were held in a peaceful environment. Several violations were detected that did not have any effect on final results of the voting.
