“Cyanide Case” lawyers to appeal against City Court judgment

Lawyers of the so-called Cyanide Case have appealed against the Tbilisi City Court judgment. As lawyer Giorgi Pantsulaia told journalists at Appeals Court, all witnesses and evidence prove that the verdict of Judge Besik Bugianishvili is groundless.

"Everyone saw how the trial was ongoing. All witnesses and evidence prove that the judgment against the archpriest was groundless and illogical”, said the lawyer.

He expressed hope that at least two out of three judges of the court of Appeal will not act like Besik Bugianishvili and the archpriest will be acquitted.

Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze was found guilty of murder attempt on September 5 and was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
