Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili initiated establishment of a special department at Chief Prosecutor’s Office which will deal with cases regarding illegally confiscated property.

This was a response of PM today to those citizens whose complaints about disputable property have been submitted to Prosecutor’s Office for more than 2 years. The department will work on complaints and compensation issues.

The list against whom citizens and businesspersons have claims is long and includes former high-ranking officials. The former ruling team now being in opposition denies allegations.

The government will have presented a detailed plan over the initiative by February, 2015.
