President of Belarus in Tbilisi


Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus arrived in Tbilisi, Georgia, with a 2-day official visit at the invitation of Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili. His plane landed at Tbilisi International Airport about one hour ago. 

Lukashenko will begin holding of official meetings tomorrow. First he will arrive at Avlabari Presidential Residence. Lukashenko will hold a face-to-face meeting with President Margvelashvili. The two presidents will then make joint statements for the media. 

Within the framework of visit, Lukashenko will also meet with Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II. Signing of an agreement on friendship between Batumi and Brest cities are planned. 

Georgia-Belarus business forum has already opened in Tbilisi. Companies of two countries will sign contracts. Presentations about economic potential of Georgia and Belarus will be held. The Minsk delegation is represented by about 50 companies. 

Georgian politicians speak about importance of Lukashenko’s visit. MPs accentuate on economic and political relations between the two countries. This is the first visit of President of Belarus ib the history of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Belarus.
