A protest is currently taking place in front of Georgia’s Ministry of Education and Science. Parents are demanding school admission for children who turn 6 years old before the 31st of December. They support the bill drafted by MP Koba Subeliani and call on the majority to do the same at tomorrow’s session. Deputy Minister of Education Giorgi Sharvashidze met with the protesters and offered MP Koba Subeliani and media representatives to talk with Minister Tamar Sanikidze, but Subeliani declined the offer. The Deputy Minister claimed that their priority is to protect the rights of children, which was followed by an upheaval. Parents say they will decide for themselves whether to take children to school or not. Add Your Comment below
