Eastern Partnership Summit Failed to Stop Split of Europe - Russian Foreign Ministry

Publish Time 2015-05-23 12:19:00 Update Time 2015-05-23 16:12:00

The European Partnership summit in Riga has failed again to stop the deepening split of Europe, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Friday.

"…the summit in Riga, under pressure of immediate goals set by some participants, has failed to use another opportunity to make a step toward preventing the further split of the continent," the ministry said in a statement.

"The European Partnership, in essence, remains an ideology-dependent geopolitical project whose implementation is strongly and negatively influenced by some EU member-states with historical record of anti-Russian paranoia," the statement said as reported by Sputnik.
