Representatives of Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived in the Gori region to monitor the situation after signposts marking the so-called South Ossetian border were unlawfully placed by Russian occupants. According to Shalva Enukidze, head of the information-analytical department of the Ministry, they are taking measurements with specialized devices. “Various groups from the Ministry of Internal Affairs are engaged in the measurement process. We will have exact information in about an hour or two,” Enukidze said. Signposts marking the so-called South Ossetian border were installed in Gori by so-called Russian border guards and representatives of the de-facto government who showed up in the village of Khurvaleti yesterday. The local population alleges that the signs lay claim to 70% of the village, insolently appropriating 10 hectares of agricultural land. Armed Russians warned the locals that they are not allowed to use the land any more. The locals also claim that they lost not only agricultural land, but pastures as well and now have to sell their cattle to survive. Add Your Comment below
