Georgia tightens visa control at borders

Georgia is tightening control at its borders. Employees of Patrol Police will be asking for the detailed information from all passengers at checkpoints and will determined travel purpose. 

Additional forces of border police are mobilized. The decision about reinforcement of security measures was made by Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) on November 23 due to the latest developments following Paris attacks.

According to MIA, travel documents will be thoroughly checked. Based on the statistics of MIA, during November 14-24, the 479 foreign citizens were rejected entry visas. One Georgian citizen and 31 foreigners were detained on charge of having attempted to cross the border illegally.
