President of Rugby Union meeting with journalists

President of the Georgian Rugby Union Giorgi Nizharadze is answering questions of journalists about the recent developments around presidential polls scheduled but later postponed at the union.

It is not known when presidential elections will be held at Rugby Union. Irakli Abuseridze and Giorgi Nizharadze, two presidential contenders withdrew their candidacies from presidential race. 

Shota Khabareli, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Sports and Youth Affairs Committee said that the decision made by contenders was unexpected for him. He said he excluded any possibility of pressure.

A council will assemble in the nearest future to set a new date of presidential elections at Rugby Union. The elections initially were scheduled for December 20. Meanwhile, Octavian Morariu, President of European Rugby Association arrived in Tbilisi this morning. 

He arrived in Georgia with the scheduled visit that is not connected to the initially set presidential elections at Rugby Union. Morariu will hold meetings at Georgian Rugby Federation today.
