Free Democrats part left without leaders
Five members – Victor Dolidze, Gia Tsagareishvili, Zurab Abashidze, Davit Onoprishvili and Irakli Chikovani – quit Free Democrats Party. Free Democrats Party has already been left by Leader Irakli Alasania and Aleksi Patriashvili.
Results of the recent parliamentary elections are named as reason for quitting. It is not yet known where former members of Free Democrats will continue future activities. Dolidze denied the reports about his possible appointment on post of State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Affairs.
Free Democrats Party held a special briefing and reported that the party will continue working and its membership will be refreshed.
Free Democrats failed to overcome 5%election threshold in October 8 parliamentary elections in Georgia. The party, established 8 years ago and affiliated with Georgian Dream ruling coalition in the past, competed independently in recent parliamentary polls.
