Second tour of parliamentary elections to be held on October 30

The second round of 2016 parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia on October 30. 

The balloting will take place in 50 Majoritarian (single mandate) constituencies where the contenders failed to overcome 50% barrier. There are 18 election constituencies in Tbilisi and 32 – in regions. Candidates of Georgian Dream and UNM Party will compete in 44 constituencies. 

The Central Election Commission (CEC) says that the election administration is ready for the second round of the polls.  

The first sitting of parliament of the 9th convocation will be held after November 19. The date will be set by Georgia’s President.
