GYLA finds full closure of Giorgi Mamaladze’s case as unjustifiable

The Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) finds full closure of the trial into case of Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, charged for having attempted to poison a high-ranking clergyman, as unjustifiable.

The GYLA believes that publicity of the trial is important both for realization of rights of the sides and society since public discussions into the case defend both sides from covert carrying out of justice.

The lawyers of Mamaladze are preparing a complaint to be submitted to the Appeals Court and demand that the decision about their eviction from the court hall is declared as null and void. The trial into Mamaladze’s case will resume on May 19.
