Ministry of IDPs and Settlement is studying the issue of Mustafa Emre Cabuk, detained Demirel College manager, about his granting a refugee status in Georgia. The ministry is waiting corresponding documentation from Cabuk’s lawyers.

A protest was held earlier this afternoon in support of Mustafa Emre Cabuk. According to protesters, the detainee has been charged for the crime he has not committed. He was involved in only educational processes in Georgia. NGOs representatives, Black Sea University students and teachers participated in the protest.

On May 25, Tbilisi City Court sentenced Demirel College Head Mustafa Emre Cabuk to three-month pre-extradition detention. Mustafa Emre Cabuk was arrested in May on charges of cooperation with terrorist organization. Turkish side demanded his detention.
