Giorgi Margvelashvili: I am glad that Georgian and American armed forces stand side-by-side

We have not lost hope for centuries and we have withstood great empires, - Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili said in his speech while addressing the Georgian and American soldiers participating in the Noble Partner 2017 exercise.

According to him, Georgia and the United States have common goals and they have common heroes as well. "Military servicemen, I am glad that Georgian and American armed forces are side by side on the Georgian land. We stand side by side for our security, freedom and our people's freedom. That is why you are worthy people and this is the most important thing for your common well-being. We have not lost hope for centuries and we have withstood great empires. Freedom is the greatest value for Georgia as well as for America. The pursuit of freedom unites our countries. We are natural partners with common values.

All people are born equal, they are granted freedom of life and freedoms to aspire to happiness. This spirit created the United States; similar spirit resurrected Georgia’s state independence and is now building a democratic country. On this path, the help of the American people and the government has a decisive importance. We have common goals here and even common heroes, like George Balanchine and General John Malkhaz Shalikashvili," Margvelashvili said.
