Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of parliament commented about death Georgian soldier Mdinari Bebiashvili, 25, killed during the attack on Bagram airfield in Afghanistan.

“He was defending the world and first of all, security of Georgia in one of the hottest places – Afghanistan. This is a loss for his family, Georgian armed forces and Georgia. The fact is the gravest tragedy for our country for which life of every citizen is valuable,” Kobakhidze said.

Bebiashvili has been killed in an attack during joint motorized patrolling in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Three military servicemen of the Georgian Armed Forces, participating in the Resolute Support mission, were also injured in the attack.

One of them, Captain Mikheil Gvindjishvili, was seriously injured, while two others have less serious injuries. All three of them are being treated in the aviation base hospital.
