The number of people killed or injured in road accidents has decreased for the first seven months of 2017 in comparison to the number of the same period in 2016.

According to Ministry of Internal Affairs, during January-July, the 3331 road accidents were registered in Georgia. The 275 people died and 4699 – were injured. The number of killed people in 2016 was 306, while 5314 was the number of injured.

Three main causes are said as the reason of road accidents: violation of traffic movement rules, exceed of speed and movement in the line of opposition direction.
