Trial of Georgian athlete Avtandil Khurtsidze will be held in USA today

The trial of Georgian athlete Avtandil Khurtsidze, detained in U.S. will be held tomorrow, on September 8. 

According to mother of the athlete Makvala Khurtsidze, the trial will be held at 12:00, local time. She hopes his son will be released from the courtroom. 

As a reminder, 15 Georgians were arrested in July in the U.S. accused of being the members of a Russian criminal syndicate. 

Two Georgian athletes – Avtandil Khurtsidze and Levan Makashvili were among the detainees. Makashvili was shortly released. Khurtsidze remains in pretrial detention.
