The bodies of 24 people out of 25 transferred from the occupied Abkhazia region were buried with military honor at Digomi brothers’ cemetery today. The bodies have been missing since 1992-93 military hostilities.

Civil funeral was held at Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral in Tbilisi. The Ministry of IDPs and Settlement earlier published the names and surnames of the identified bodies.

Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili made a statement about application to President about presenting the heroes for Vakhtang Gorgasali Order.

President Giorgi Margvelashvili thanked everyone who mediated in repatriation of bodies and expressed condolence to the families.
