The Studio was founded on May,
2013 on the base of documentary film direction. The documentary film studio of
Georgian Public Broadcaster produces 32 films during each television season,
this is the highest number of films out of Georgian studios.
Films are made on different
themes, include: historical, social, cultural, regional issues, as well
as, contemporary problems and events. The
viewing audience are representatives of different social segments; with the
variety of interests, place of residence, ages, social status etc.
The production of the
documentary studio, conventionally, can be divided into four groups:
1. Narrative Documentary Films ( with presenter, or
narrator behind the scenes), which include artistic scenes
2. Narrative Documentary Films without scenes
3. Live Documentary
4. Observation
